Below are some of my past assignments that I have worked on and submitted for my first-year CPMS101 and my second-year CPMS225 courses. I hope you enjoy some of my work and learn something new!

I chose this assignment because it was a reflection on my first day as a Media Scholars Student and on my first Media Scholars trip and assignment. I really enjoyed the experience I had both volunteering within my community while also having my first experience meeting my fellow scholars peers. I enjoyed both the volunteer experience, where I was able to help serve the local community around the College Park area. Additionally, I met new people and made some of my closest friendships on this trip, and I am grateful for this amazing experience from the very first day. This was one of my overall highlights during my time as a first-year student and a Media, Self, and Society scholar.
I uploaded this particular assignment because it was a reflection piece from one of the most powerful trips that allowed me to gain a new perspective on media that I had not fully understood before. I chose to upload my reflection on my CPMS101 trip to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. because visiting the museum with my newly gained knowledge about the uses and power of media allowed me to visit this museum once more, and still learn new things. I am grateful for being able to gain this new experience, because I most likely would not have visited this museum with the intent to focus mostly on the uses and power of media. This new perspective provided me with more information and depth into the tragedy of the Holocaust, a topic I have learned throughout the entirety of my life.
I chose to upload this assignment about symbolism and the messages they convey. This assignment allowed me to think deeper about the meaning behind colors, objects, and designs in symbols and the purposes they have. I enjoyed picking and researching a symbol, as well as discussing the way a symbol can have various meanings based on various perspectives and environments. This assignment stood out to me from my other CPMS225 assignments this semester, as I gained a new understanding about symbols and perspectives/interpretations that I had not known before. Before this assignment, I did not really take into account the real depth and meanings behind logos and symbols, and now I can use this newly gained knowledge and apply it going forward.
